Timo Salo

Salo was best known as a hardworking energetic forward accustomed to a high paced game. He was known as a fast skating defensively oriented winger and he excelled in a penalty killing role. He formed a formidable defensive duo with his childhood friend Tapio Laakso. His sacrificing style of play made him prone to injuries, which eventually forced him to an early retirement from professional hockey. (EP 2015)
