Was selected in the 4th round (88th overall) in the 1982 Major League Baseball amateur draft by the California Angels. Choose a baseball career rather following hockey, compiling a 106-108 career record with a 4.12 ERA and had 1003 strikeouts over 11 years in the MLB. (link)
