| |
| Involved in one of the most bizarre trades in hockey history, when on January 19, 1983 his rights were traded by the Seattle Breakers (who listed him on their reserve list) to his hometown Victoria Cougars - whom he expressed interest to only play junior hockey for his hometown team and leave university in the U.S., for a used team bus the Cougars had purchased from the defunct Spokane Flyers franchise. The bus was sitting in storage in the U.S. as the Cougars were not willing to pay taxes and fees required to bring the bus across the border to Canada. For the remainder of his hockey career, this earned him the nickname "Bussey". |
