Cult/Star player for Guelph Biltmores

Paul Fendley passed away on May 8, 1972, 73 hours after he had hit his head on the arena ice in Kitchener, Ontario. Fendley was checked by an opponent, lost his balance and helemet in the process, fell and struck the back of his head on the ice. His #18 has since not been worn by a player representing the Guelph Biltmores, Guelph Platers, or Guelph Storm. On November 15, 2008, the Storm finally retired #18 in a ceremony at the Sleeman Centre.
