Bio
Jason King began his career with the Halifax Mooseheads. His strong performance did not go unnoticed. He was named to the QMJHL Second All-Star Team in 2000-2001 and was the league top goal scorer in the following season. King entered the NHL as a late draft pick. He was selected as the 212th pick in the 7th round of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft by the Vancouver Canucks.

King spent his first season of professional hockey mainly with the Manitoba Moose in the AHL. In the following season he was able to secure a spot in the Canucks lineup playing alongside Daniel and Henrik Sedin. King was named NHL Rookie of the Month in November 2003.

During the 2004-05 NHL lockout King was assigned to play the final year of his entry-level contract with the Manitoba Moose in the AHL. The lockout proved to be a watershed in his career. Despite playing well in the AHL and earning a spot in the 2005 AHL All-Star Game, his season was cut short by a concussion that made him miss games in the following season as well. The Vancouver Canucks opted not to offer him a new contract after the conclusion of 2005-06 season.

In 2006-07 season King played for Skellefteå AIK in Sweden. Following the season in Sweden he was slated to play for the Iserlohn Roosters in Germany. In June 2007 the Canucks traded his NHL rights to the Anaheim Ducks alongside a conditional third round pick in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft for Ryan Shannon. The Ducks opted to sign King to one-year contract. King did manage to make it back to the NHL after being signed by the Ducks, but only for four games. He spent the majority of the season playing for the Portland Pirates in the AHL. King spent the next three seasons playing in DEL in Germany, only to return to the AHL to play for the St. John's IceCaps. In his second season with the IceCaps King sustained another concussion. Following the season he opted to retire and became a coach.
