Kvartlanov was chosen 16th overall in 1992 by the Bruins then scored 30 goals for them as a rookie in 1992-93. He split the 1993-94 season between Bruins and their AHL affiliate in Providence. He starred in Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Finland, and of course back home in Russia with several teams, most notably Kazan Ak-Bars.
