En stor profil i Leksandskretsar. Inledde sin hockeybana i Leksands IF och efter ett gästspel i grannklubben Häradsbygdens SS jobbade Gunnar många år som lagledare i Leksands IF, bl a 1968/69 då föreningen blev svenska mästare för första gången. En underskattad forward i Leksands IF som ofta låg i övre regionerna av skytteligorna.
