Player Biography and Trivia

Walter König represented his hometown club Klagenfurter AC throughout his entire career. He was part of the roster in the inaugural season of the Austrian Bundesliga 1965/66 and remained with the club for 13 seasons before retiring in 1978. Overall, König posted 100 goals and 102 assists for 202 points in 269 games in the Austrian first league. He won a total of twelve Austrian championship titles with his team, eleven of them in the Bundesliga era, and he was part of the KAC team to make it to the final of the European Cup against CSKA Moskva in 1969.
Furthermore, König was dressed in 30 international games of the Austrian national team (2 goals, 2 assists) and participated in three world championships (B-pool) and the Olympic Games in 1968.
