Player Biography and Trivia

Cult/Star player for AIK

"Cliff" Ryan var en av dom första kanadensiska spelarna i svenska Division 1. Han kom att spela division 1 hockey i AIK först men hade tidigare även spelat division 2 hockey med Fagersta AIK.

Till Sverige kom Ryan från Wembley Lions i BNL (England).
I Lions spelade han för övrigt i den klassiska "BAR-Line" tillsammans med svenskbekanta namnen "Les" Anning (IK Viking) och Kenny Booth (Mora IK).

Spelade även en säsong för Västra Frölunda IF innan Ryan slutade med ishockey.

Hemma i Kanada var han nära kontrakt i NHL efter en bra säsong 1949/50 för Moncton Hawks i MSHL. Men när inte chansen kom så flyttade Ryan till England där Streatham, Earl´s Court Rangers och Nottingham Panthers blev hans klubbar förutom Wembley Lions.
