Player Biography and Trivia
Blommade ut som jättetalang hemma i IFK Nyland och var där division 2-lagets bästa back tillsammans med Sten Olsén.
Värvades ner till Södertälje SK och allsvenskt spel mellan 1962 och 1965. Första säsongen i SSK fick Byström oftast tillbringa som reserv. Men tredje säsongen satte tränaren Folke "Masen" Jansson ihop en succékedja där Byström var ytterforward tillsammans med "Stisse" Johansson, som var ny från Surahammars IF, och Hans Carlsson som center.
Flyttade sedan till Huskvarna innan han återvände som både spelare och senare även tränare till Nyland.
Bor i Nyland.
