Storstjärna hos Sundbybergs IK under flera säsonger. Gjorde även kortare sejourer både i AIK och IK Göta.

Gjorde totalt hela 22 a-landskamper mellan åren 1952 och 1955 utan att få ta med sig någon VM-medalj hem till prissamlingen.
Debuterade i Tre Kronor 5 december 1952 mot Schweiz i Stockholm. Sverige kom att vinna matchen med 12-3 och Söderberg fick agera reserv och se på då Sven Tumba showade och svarade för fyra av målen.
