Player Biography and Trivia

Kallades "Les" eller "Rimouski Rocket".

En av svensk hockeys allra första importer då han kom till IK Viking i Hagfors inför säsongen 1959/60 från Brighton Tigers i brittiska ligan.

Hade redan innan spel i Sverige en diger bakgrund som hockeyspelare. Tillhörde på dom brittiska öarna exempelvis klubbar som Wembley Monarchs, Wembley Lions, Earl´s Court Rangers, Ayr Raiders och som sagt var även Brighton Tigers.

Gjorde ett försök att jobba sig till ett NHL-kontrakt säsongen 1948/49 då han spelade i QSHL hemma i Kanada för Montreal Royals och Shawinigan Falls Cataract. Men bara ett poäng på totalt 18 matcher imponerade inte utan Anning återvände till England och Wembley Lions.

Tillhörde den klassiska BAR-line i Wembley Lions tillsammans med "Cliff" Ryan och Kenny Booth.

"Les" Anning var även den som låg bakom att vännen "Des" Moroney hamnade i Sverige och Fagersta AIK.

Leslie Anning avled 28 januari 2008.
