Player Biography and Trivia

Schafer developed through the junior ranks with the Medicine Hat Tigers of the WHL, where he posted a standout 61-game season in 1994-95. His strong junior play led to his selection by Boston in 1995 in the 2nd round. After turning pro, he split time in the AHL and ECHL, and earned his brief NHL call-up in 1996-97. While his NHL tenure was short, he continued to play in the minors for several seasons, including stints with teams such as the Pee Dee Pride and the Baton Rouge Kingfish in the ECHL. After his professional minor-pro career he also played senior-level hockey in Canada.
