Stan Smyl
Brother: Harvey Smyl
Smyl was selected 40th overall in 1978 after scoring 76 points and winning a 2nd straight Memorial Cup with the New Westminster Bruins. He scored 14 goals and 38 points as a rookie in 1979 and jumped to 31 goals and 78 points the following season. Smyl recorded 3 seasons with 30+ goals and 70+ points, including career highs of 38 goals and 88 points in 1983. He played his entire 13-year career with the Canucks and captained the team from 1982-90. He retired in 1991 with 262 goals, 673 points, and 1,556 penalty minutes. Smyl's #12 was the first number retired by the Canucks.
