Elite Prospects Notes and Trivia
History:

The team name JYP-Akatemia reflects its affiliation and shared ownership with JYP, with 'Akatemia' indicating that the team is an 'academy' team. In simple terms, the team functions as a developmental affiliate, i.e. a farm team to JYP. Under the same ownership and arrangement the team was previously known as D-Team, the D reflecting its history as Diskos. The team roster tends to be a mix of the best JYP U20 players, overaged U20 players and players who compete for a spot on the JYP Liiga lineup. The team ceased operations after being relegated from Mestis to Suomi-sarja at the conclusion of the 2017-16 season.

Team names:

- Jyväskylän Lohi (1974-90)
- Lohi-Kiekko (1990-93)
- Diskos (1993–04)
- D-Kiekko (2004-08)
- D Team (2008-11)
- JYP-Akatemia (2011-)
