Cult/Star player for AIK

Cult/Star player for Rögle BK

Norrlänning från Kiruna som var lite av spelgeni i rinken. Flyttade ner till Stockholm och AIK från Kiruna via Bodens BK 1974.

Kom att bli AIK trogen i tio säsonger och gjorde 130 mål under dessa säsonger på 306 matcher.

Gjorde tre mycket fina säsoger i Rögle efter att varid i norska Maglerud/Star under en säsong. Även proffs i österrikiska Graz under en säsong 1988/89.

Efter sina år som spelare slog sig Mats på tränarjobbet där han bl a tränat Hammarby IF, Lidingö HC, Lettlands landslag (Med Curre Lindström). Är numera ansvarig för Nynäshamns ishockeygymnasium "Nynäs Hockey College".

Bor i Stockholm.
