Russ Courtnall was selected 7th overall in 1983 after scoring 97 points with the Victoria Cougars. He won World Championship silver in 1991 and a Canada Cup in 1992. He reached the 70-point mark in 4 seasons and retired in 1999 with 297 goals and 744 points.
