Rick Cunningham holds the all-time record for points scored by defencemen in the Austrian league. In nine seasons (or 296 games) he scored 224 goals and 373 assists for a total of 597 points. After getting naturalized on October 4th, 1978, he also played 83 games for the Austrian national team.
