Simmer played on the Kings "Triple Crown Line" with Marcel Dionne and Dave Taylor. The big winger recorded back-to-back seasons with 56 goals and 100+ points in 1980 and 81. He later won a Bill Masterton Trophy in 1986 and retired from the NHL in 1988 with 342 goals and 711 points in 712 games.
