Elite Prospects' 2025 NHL Draft Grades

The draft has concluded and the picks are in. Hope is in the air. 

Now, it's time to grade draft-day performances. 

Primarily, these grades focus on how teams did with the picks they had available, based on our year-plus-long scouting journey of this class. 

But with so much variance between total draft capital, we also emphasized the overall talent and haul of each class. A sort of split between efficiency and total value. 

Of course, an exercise like this falls more into the “fun” than the “cutting analysis” category, given that teams make decisions based on a variety of perspectives and methodologies that we're not privy to. Plus, so many elements affect development. 

Still, there's value in taking a measured look at how teams did immediately after the draft, whether that's providing a recap of our favourite fits and picks, or looking back in a couple of years when things have changed dramatically.
