NTDP’s Casey Mutryn balancing family legacy and first-round potential

PLYMOUTH, Michigan – Casey Mutryn started playing hockey because he and his brother, San Jose Sharks pick, Teddy Mutryn, didn’t want to feel left out.
Growing up in Norwell, Massachusetts, there was a pond across the street from where the Mutryns lived. When it froze each winter and the neighbourhood kids would start skating and playing pick-up hockey, Casey and Teddy were naturally drawn to join the others.
“We weren’t forced into it, but you saw it, and you kind of wanted to join in right away,” Casey Mutryn said. “We kind of fell in love with it right away, and that’s how we got hooked.”
