Previewing the 2025 Hlinka Gretzky Cup

The start of the scouting season is near! 

The Hlinka Gretzky Cup is the marquee summer event for the upcoming draft season, providing a best-on-best look for many of the draft class’ top talents. 

While a poor tournament often won’t matter much in the end, first impressions count for a lot – especially if they’re really impressive. Players who start off well often carry that momentum into the season and beyond. 

This year’s tournament will take place in Brno, Czechia, and Trenčín, Slovakia, from August 11th to 16th. Elite Prospects will have two scouts on site – Janik Beichler and Honza Zoufal – filing reports and writing articles on all the action.
