EP Rinkside's 3 Stars from Day 3 of the 2023 Memorial Cup

The third day of action at the 103rd Memorial Cup pitted two teams with 0-1 records against each other.

Both the host Kamloops Blazers and the OHL champion Peterborough Petes were walloped in their respective openers. And both teams came into this game clearly gunning for a quick start and a chance to turn the tides of momentum.

Only one of them seized on that opportunity, and that would be the Blazers.

The Blazers jumped into the game with speed, tenacity, and a whole lot of physicality. They scored a goal quickly but it was waived off as Logan Stankoven (DAL) bumped into Petes’ netminder Michael Simpson. That didn’t dissuade them any, though.
