Fantasy Hockey Feature: Philip Broberg thriving in St. Louis

St. Louis Blues defenceman Philip Broberg has now played 46 games this season. Those 46 games have produced 18 points, or five more points than he had in 81 regular season games with the Edmonton Oilers. He is playing a much bigger role with the Blues and excelling. It is worth looking at his path as a prospect, his play with St. Louis, and what all this tells us about his future. 

Broberg was a contentious eighth overall pick in the 2019 draft. At the time, our own J.D. Burke ranked him towards the end of the first round while The Athletic’s Corey Pronman had him ninth overall. Other places rated him closer to the middle of the first round, and the separation was for two reasons: 

His frequent turnovers (Burke did not mince words about Broberg’s lack of hockey sense) and how much offensive
