Four straight wins for Hurricanes

The Carolina Hurricanes and the New York Islanders are on two very different trajectories. Carolina Hurricanes won the game and has four straight wins in the NHL. The home team, on the other hand, has suffered five consecutive defeats. The game finished 5-2 (2-1, 0-1, 3-0).
Carolina Hurricanes has extended their lead in their division to 112 points, while NY Rangers sits two points back.
The Hurricanes had a good start to the game. They took a 2-0 lead after goals from Derek Stepan and Seth Jarvis before the Islanders replied and made it 2-1 when Ross Johnston struck first.
After that the game entered an indecisive standstill. Ryan Pulock scored late in the period, assisted by Josh Bailey and Kieffer Bellows, to give the Islanders the lead.
The Hurricanes dominated the third period, receiving goals from Max Domi, Jesper Fast and Brendan Smith.
New York Islanders is now 35–34–10, while Carolina Hurricanes improves to 52–20–8.
This means New York Islanders is still in fifth place and Carolina Hurricanes is on top.
In the next round on Tuesday, April 2, Islanders will face the Washington Capitals road at 7 p.m., while Hurricanes host the New York Rangers at 7 p.m.
