Montreal players beat in overtime the Pittsburgh players

The teams were tied after 60 minutes but overtime saw the Montreal Canadiens come away with the close win over the Pittsburgh Penguins at home on Monday. The final score was 3-2.

The game-winning goal was scored by Montreal's Kirby Dach.

The Pittsburgh players started off strong and took the lead right after the puck drop with Danton Heinen scoring in the first minute, a goal assisted by Kasperi Kapanen and Bryan Rust.

Evgeni Malkin scored early into the second period, assisted by Bryan Rust and Pierre-Olivier Joseph.

The Montreal players narrowed the gap to 2-1 within the first minute when Nick Suzuki found the back of the net, assisted by Kaiden Guhle and Mike Hoffman.

Cole Caufield tied the game 2-2 late in the third period, assisted by Jonathan Drouin and Kaiden Guhle. With this goal, the score was tied and then, the game went to overtime.

In overtime, it took 3:09 before Kirby Dach scored the game-winner for the home team.

Montreal improves to 2–2–0, while Pittsburgh drops to 2–0–1.

Montreal is now at four points 4 after four games, while Pittsburgh has five points from three games.
