Examining how Zam and Max Plante are taking over NCAA hockey

The 2025-26 University of Minnesota-Duluth hockey program has produced a result we’ve never seen in the history of college hockey. 

For the first time, two brothers on the same team sit atop the overall NCAA Division I scoring race. Zam Plante (2022, 150th overall, Pittsburgh) and Max Plante (2024, 47th overall, Detroit) are making absolute magic on the top line for the Bulldogs this season and have been running roughshod over their assignments at even-strength, on the power-play, and in shorthanded situations.
