NCAA Notebook: Ivy League's hot start is something to ponder

We have to talk about the Ivy League.

Dartmouth is the last team standing with an undefeated record, at 6-0-0. Harvard (5-1-1) and Princeton (5-1-0) aren't far behind them. Cornell, at 6-2-0, is in that mix as well.

This is, as you might expect, not super sustainable. For one thing, they have a way smaller sample size than everyone else in college hockey and for another it's hard for more than one or two teams — let alone four or five — to lose very few games in regulation over the course of a full season.

So, the question is who from this group, if any, is going to be standing tall as the postseason approaches. As of the end of Wednesday night's games, Dartmouth is first in the NPI rating, while Cornell is third, Harvard is eighth, and Princeton is 15th. That means the Tigers are on the NCAA
