NCAA Weekender: How high is Michigan's ceiling?

Recapping the biggest stories of the NCAA weekend.

The Michigan Wolverines entered the weekend as the No. 9 team in the country according to the national poll, and in the preseason they had been picked to finish fourth in their own conference.

Now, four games into the season, that is perhaps starting to feel almost criminally low.

In 240 minutes of hockey, they have outscored their opponents 26-3. Outshot them 157-72. Outattempted them 297-160. Their power play is running at 50 percent, and they have a 3-1 goal difference on the penalty kill.

In short, they have the puck constantly, then fill the opponents' net with it. And when they don't have it, they give up very little going the other way, and get it back quickly.

That all includes a command performance in a road sweep of No. 7 Providence C
