Tyler Muszelik, Ethan Wyttenbach among standouts from 2026 Connecticut Ice Tournament

NEW HAVEN, Connecticut – In a lot of ways, this was the most competitive Connecticut Ice tournament since its inception in 2020.

The now-annual competition between the four Div. 1 teams in the Nutmeg State — reigning champions UConn, three-time champs Quinnipiac, inaugural champ Sacred Heart, and Yale — often has closely contested games, but it's never had the four entrants come in as hot or as highly ranked in the national standings as this year. Coming in, Quinnipiac was ninth in the NPI, UConn was 19th, SHU 34th, and Yale 52nd. But even the Bulldogs were winners of three of their last four, while Quinnipiac had won 13 of the last 14, UConn had just two losses since the end of November, and Sacred Heart was on a six-game unbeaten streak.
