Comparing Ivan Demidov's and Matvei Michkov's draft-plus-one KHL seasons

Matvei Michkov and Ivan Demidov are two of the best Russian prospects the country has produced over the recent years. Both had extremely impressive draft years but making direct data-based comparisons between them was made very difficult.

Michkov started his season in the second-tier men's league VHL before getting loaned to HK Sochi, then getting to play full-time KHL minutes. Demidov, on the other hand, spent his draft year almost exclusively playing against junior competition in the MHL.

Making a direct head-to-head comparison between their draft-plus-one seasons is a lot easier, however.
