Usually, prospects with Jonathan Lekkerimäki's track record of scoring and pedigree don't struggle the way he did in his draft-plus-one season.

His modest nine points in 29 regular season contests rang alarm bells across the scouting world, especially when that scoring was compared to that of his Djurgårdens trio counterparts, Liam Öhgren (20 points in 36 games) and Noah Östlund (26 points in 37 games).

Luckily, Lekkerimäki reversed course in the HockeyAllsvenskan playoffs, scoring at a point-a-game clip over 15 contests. That run saved what would have otherwise been a deeply troubling year of hockey.
