Two years later, Philip Broberg has clearly improved, but is it enough?

Philip Broberg was no by means a surprise pick at No. 8 in 2019 by the Edmonton Oilers, but he was a controversial one.

Critics and fans alike agreed that Broberg’s speed and size were an intriguing combination. The controversy was around his decision-making and reads. 

The fans saw a moldable player who could use his rare skillset to bring immense value in all three zones. The critics saw a player lacking the feel and understanding of the game to the extent that it would prevent him from becoming an effective NHLer in anything but a minor role.
