There are a lot of things that can change between mid-July and the start of next season, but it looks like the Pacific Division is shaping up to be the league's worst.

Which, technically, means that it's also wide open. Which, technically, means the San Jose Sharks have an opportunity to at least appear competitive after missing the playoffs for two straight seasons.

You can basically write Vegas into a post-season spot with ink, and probably Edmonton with one of those erasable pens as long as the goaltending holds up. But that third divisional spot? That's anyone's guess. Maybe the Flames bounce back after a kinda-surprising poor season. LA might be in the process of powering out of its rebuild and into this conversation.
