After failing to make the playoffs a year removed from a 55-win, 114-point season, the New York Rangers looked like a team about to be stuck in the middle. 

If they want to get back into the mix, it's going to take resurgent seasons from their stars. Perhaps a prospect or two could help.

While the Rangers haven't exactly been a development powerhouse, Will Cuylle has massively exceeded our expectations, while Braden Schneider looks like an important piece. 

Now, they need a difference-maker to rise from the system. Thankfully, they have two potential ones – one at wing, one at defence – and a surprisingly deep system for a team with very limited draft capital over the years.
