FRISCO, Texas – The bags were packed and the plans were made. Anton Frondell was not going to miss this under-18 World Hockey Championship.

Not after being forced to sit out of last year’s event due to injury. And last summer’s Hlinka-Gretzky tournament also to injury. This event in Texas marked the last significant scouting opportunity for the 2025 class and symbolized the culmination of years of effort for this group of players.

“We’ve been playing together for three years and the U18 Worlds is what we’ve been playing for the whole time,” Frondell told Elite Prospects.

This cohort of players born in 2007 has largely remained intact since their U16 international competition in 2022-23, progressing to secure a U17 Bronze medal in 2023-24, and a silver medal at the WJAC-19  earlier this season
