After three straight years of Czechia bringing home a medal at the World Juniors, it would have been reasonable to assume that regression was inevitable, that at some point, the talent pipeline would dip and the team would arrive without a legitimate medal-calibre roster.
That is very clearly not the case this year. If anything, Czechia may have brought one of the strongest teams in their history.
On paper, this is a group built to do more than simply participate. The expectation is once again to contend for hardware, with the opportunity to match a historic benchmark set during the Czechoslovak era: four consecutive World Junior medals.
