Robert Barry Biography and Trivia
Noted for his work as an ice hockey official in the New England area, having worked as a linesman in the NHL for a number of years as well as refereeing at the highest levels of amateur and collegiate hockey. His career was highlighted by working as a referee at the 1960 Winter Olympics at Squaw Valley, three World Championships (1961, 62 & 63), ten NCAA Frozen Four Tournaments, 19 of the first 25 Beanpot Tournaments, as well as hundreds of NCAA Division 1 games over the years. He also coached hockey at Boston State for 16 seasons. Bob was inducted into the Northeastern University Athletic Hall of Fame in 1985, and the Massachusetts Hockey Hall of Fame in 2007.
