Foster William Hewitt became known as one of the first radio broadcasters in NHL history. For over 30 years he starred in "Hockey Night in Canada". In 1952 he became the first broadcaster of the show to appear on television. He was inducted to the Hockey Hall of Fame in the Builder category in 1965, and he passed away on April 21, 1985.
