Robert Gary Sarver is an American businessman who earned his fortune is real estate. In sports, he is best known as the former majority owner of the NBA franchise Phoenix Suns (2004-2022) and WNBA franchise Phoenix Mercury (2004-2022) through Sun Legacy Partners, LLC, a ownership group that also included previous majority Jerry Colangelo and his son Bryan Coangelo during a transition phase. The Tucson-born businessman also previously owned La Liga team RCD Mallorca (2016-2023).
Sarver also became the owner of the ECHL franchise, the Phoenix Roadrunners, after Sun Legacy Partners acquired it from Bloomington Partners LLC, an ownership group that included Rick Adams, John Butler, Barry Kemp, David LeFevre and Mike Nelson on February 1, 2005.
