Joe Milano, the owner of Villa Milano Banquet & Conference Center in Columbus, Ohio, was also the owner of the Waco Wizards WPHL franchise. He sold it to Rick Dames, Stu Kehoe and Sue Kehoe on July 22, 1999. He was awarded a WPHL expansion franchise, the Tucson Scorch, in 2000, but the league revoked the franchise on its opening night, on October 13, 2000, due to missed payments to the league.
