Colorado's 4-1 win over Chicago on March 20, 2026 made them the first team to clinch a playoff berth this season, doing so for the ninth consecutive year. The Avalanche also became the first team to reach 100 points, for a fifth straight season, with coach Jared Bednar calling it a good start while noting the team still has plenty of season left to play.
