M1KA — Mika Zibanejad honored before the game against Senators · Mar 23, 2026

The Rangers honored Mika Zibanejad before puck drop at Madison Square Garden on March 23, as the Swedish center played his 1,000th NHL career game — a full-circle moment made even more fitting by the opponent. Zibanejad is just the 22nd Swedish-born player to reach the 1,000-game milestone. He skated in his 719th game as a Ranger after playing his first 281 with Ottawa. In a pregame ceremony, Zibanejad was presented with a silver stick along with a mini version for his young daughter, Ella, with a tribute video narrated by his wife, Irma. His teammates showed up to the Garden wearing long wigs and custom blue "M1KA" T-shirts in honor of the occasion.
