Alexander Wennberg pulled the Sharks level with a sharp finish in the third period. Wennberg tied it 1-1 at 5:04 of the third period on a breakout along the left side, getting the puck from William Eklund as he was streaking down the middle of the ice and kicking the puck to his forehand before putting it over the right shoulder of the goalie. It proved only a brief reprieve for San Jose, as the Blues won it in overtime.
