Trailing 0–2 midway through the second period, Dahlin stepped into a power-play opportunity and ripped one home to cut the deficit to 2–1 — his 100th career NHL goal. The Buffalo captain eventually helped force a comeback, with Peyton Krebs tying it late in the third and Tage Thompson and Jack Quinn converting in a shootout for a 3–2 win that kept the Sabres ahead of Tampa Bay in the Atlantic by two points.
