Nazem Kadri scored twice on the power play against his former team as part of a 26-shot, five-goal first period as Colorado demolished Calgary 9-2 at Ball Arena. MacKinnon scored a power-play goal in the second period and added two assists in the third, taking his season total to 49 goals and keeping him at the top of the Rocket Richard race while remaining within striking distance in a tight three-way Art Ross battle with Nikita Kucherov and Connor McDavid. The win extended Colorado's lead to eight points over Dallas for top seed in the Central Division.
