Nathan MacKinnon Scores His 50th Goal — First in the NHL This Season · Apr. 1, 2026
Just 1:22 into the first period, MacKinnon took the puck high in the zone, cut across the middle and wired a wrist shot short side past Kevin Lankinen to become the first NHL player to reach 50 goals this season. It's the second time in his career he's hit the mark, making him the third player in Avalanche/Nordiques history with multiple 50-goal campaigns, joining Joe Sakic and Michel Goulet. At 30 years old, he's also just the 16th player in league history to score 50-plus in his age-30 season or later.
