San Jose beat Toronto 4-1 at SAP Center for their fourth consecutive win, moving into the second Western Conference wild card spot in the process. Zack Ostapchuk scored his first goal in nearly three months, William Eklund, Collin Graf and Adam Gaudette also found the net, and Alex Nedeljkovic turned aside 18 shots. The Sharks — who had the worst record in the NHL last season and haven't reached the playoffs since 2018-19 — are tied with Nashville and Los Angeles in points but hold a game in hand on both.
