Brent Burns became only the second player — and first defenseman — in NHL history to appear in 1,000 consecutive games when Colorado visited Dallas, a streak running back to Nov. 21, 2013. The milestone was fittingly marked by a 2-0 shutout: Necas tapped in a back-door feed from Artturi Lehkonen for his career-high 36th goal, and MacKinnon sealed it with his NHL-leading 51st off an empty net.
