Ryan Strome marked his 500th career NHL point with a breakaway goal against his former team to give the Flames a 2-1 lead. Calgary then pulled further clear through some slick combination play — Gridin and Farabee exchanging goal-assist pairs — before Morgan Frost sealed it with an empty-netter at 1:11 after Anaheim had clawed back to 4-3. Devin Cooley made 36 saves as the Flames sent the Ducks to a fifth straight loss.
